Owners & Managers

For real estate developers and property managers, building sustainability begins with the planning stages.

Typically, there is no advocate for waste reduction and diversion on a building development project or within an existing property. Think Zero partners with real estate developers and managers to ensure sustainability goals are met from day one, including waste diversion, recycling, and composting infrastructure. Our work spans commercial and residential properties, and we’ve represented some properties for over 8+ years.

In new building developments, managing, storing, transporting, reducing, and diverting waste all require dedicated space—something that's difficult to plan for after construction.

If waste management isn't considered in the design and pre-construction phases, many developments struggle to meet sustainability goals due to space limitations once the building is operational. Think Zero ensures that space for waste diversion and sustainability features is prioritized from the start, so they don’t get overlooked. Modern developments need to plan ahead for 21st-century recycling and composting requirements, with low-waste infrastructure and systems designed in advance to ensure success.

Corporations

Think Zero helps buildings and corporations set annual waste reduction and diversion goals, then develops and implements tailored programs involving all stakeholders who handle, manage, or generate waste.

Our initiatives range from fostering a low-waste culture through internal communications to specialty recycling, donation programs, green teams, and annual zero waste challenges. We track waste data, including waste hauler and audit information, providing detailed analytics for our clients. At a minimum, we conduct an annual waste audit and compliance assessment for local and state regulations, delivering comprehensive reports for both.

Residential Properties

For residential properties, residents value opportunities to reduce waste, recycle more effectively, and enhance sustainability efforts.

By planning ahead to incorporate waste reduction technologies, properties can reduce waste storage needs, while also achieving labor and cost savings. These savings include lower waste hauling fees, cost reductions from transitioning to zero-waste infrastructure, and less need for fertilizer in landscaping. Additionally, properties with strong sustainability features often enjoy valuable marketing and PR opportunities.
